While the poker world is preoccupied with the Main Event at WSOP 2011, the online poker room PokerStars is chugging away. The tribulations of the recent months following Black Friday have slowed down the progress on the Road to 100 Billion, but have not deterred it from the path.
The next mega milestone on the road to 100 billion is 65 million. The payouts will begin from the 64.7 billionth hand. Thereafter every millionth hand milestone will award prizes to the participants in that hand with the 65 millionth hand awarding mega prizes.

State officials in Nevada have put together a list of online gambling regulations. Some of the topics addressed in the regulation are requirements for registrations, proper methods for solving disputes, internal management procedures, licensing issues and requirements for applicants. Even though the Federal Government has not yet legalized online gambling officials in Nevada feel that they should have a draft of gambling guidelines already drawn up prior to the Feds official decision.

Through the looking glass this time out, as we wrap up a busy week, checking in on a handful of mainstream pieces that have examined online pokers plight in recent days. The most important of these might have been a story in the called Poker Inc. to Uncle Sam: Shut Up and Deal, which offers a top-level view of the political battles shaping up in D.C. over online pokers possible future.
Its an important piece because of its large audience, not because of its groundbreaking information. In fact, the NYT piece doesnt offer a whole lot thats new, trotting out Black Friday (and Full Tilts Chris Ferguson and Howard Lederer), the pressures poker players are playing on the political scene, and of course the requisite nutjob from the far right as usual, its Focus on the Family whackobean Chad Hills.

Deciding on a pleasant vacation on the Mediterranean rather than slogging through the record setting field in Atlantic City, 2011 World Series of Poker November Niner Matt Giannetti made the most of his stay by winning the World Poker Tour stop at the Casino in Portomaso, Malta, early Sunday morning.

The economy has made lawmakers take an alternate view of how to bring money into the ailing state budget. The biggest bill to come to the floor in terms of instant funding involves expanding casino gambling on a grand scale. Las Vegas-style casino resorts are being pushed in the latest gambling bill to be debated. Lawmakers have acknowledged that if it was not for the economy, the gambling bill would have little chance of passing.
